Anwyl Cooper-Willis, second generation Portmeirion artist, brings us Holly and Ivy. Created in 1995, it is now a holiday classic. The Holly and Ivy is the contemporary arrangement of an antique illustration of rich green foliage and lush red berries. Evocative of the traditional English Christmas, the collection includes dinnerware, giftware and cookware in Portmeirion’s romantic dinnerware shape. This is the perfect pattern to start your own holiday entertaining tradition for generations to come. Set of 6 dinner plates.
Introduced in 1995 and designed by Anwyl Cooper-Willis, The Holly and The Ivy pattern from Portmeirion is based upon a 17th Century English Christmas tune. Capturing the essence of the holiday season, the collection showcases a traditionally festive motif of intertwining branches of holly and ivy, punctuated by berries, blossoms, and glistening leaves. A garland of lush foliage also trims the outer edges of select pieces in the collection. Accenting the design are finely scripted lyrics from the traditional carol celebrating the Yuletide cheer of the season.
A wonderful pattern for holiday entertaining, this set of six 10-inch dinner plates will add a festive cheer to any end of the year get-together. Equally suitable for use at a formal dinner, or as platters on the buffet, this set will be used for many celebrations to come. The Holly and The Ivy collection incorporates a full line of coordinating table settings, bakeware, serving items, and giftware, and complements the Botanic Garden collection to create a unique union of tableware items. Made in Britain from hand decorated and vitrified stoneware, each tableware piece is safe in the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer. –Lea Werbel
